Terri Passante, Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner

Born and raised in Connecticut, Terri is a compassionate Board-Certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner with 18 years of nursing experience. After graduating from nursing school in 2004, Terri joined the Hematology Oncology Department at Yale New Haven Hospital, providing complex care to oncology patients including administering chemotherapy. Early on she was recognized for her superb communication skills and advocacy for patients and their families battling cancer. She excelled in collaborative and compassionate care and has been recognized by Yale New Haven Hospital with numerous nursing excellence awards. Terri’s nursing career fostered her compassion and empathy that she displays toward her patients every day.

Terri’s self-motivation and interest in Women’s Health led to her joining the Division of Gynecologic Oncology at Smilow Cancer Hospital, where she became their lead clinical practice nurse. In the busiest Gyn Oncology practice in Connecticut, Terri always had a smile on her face while triaging, caring for, and treating Gyn Oncology patients with complex clinical issues. Patients and their families always appreciated Terri’s involvement in their care.

While Terri held a full-time position as the Nurse Coordinator for the Division of Gyn Oncology at Smilow Cancer Hospital and raising two teenagers, she successfully completed the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program at Regis College in Massachusetts, earning her Master of Science in Nursing degree at the top of her class. Her superior skills in the collaborative care of women with both surgical/medical oncologic and benign gynecologic conditions combined with her exceptional communication skills prepared her to be a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner.

In her position as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner at the Greater New Haven OB/GYN Group, Terri finds satisfaction and joy in delivering care to women of all ages. She particularly enjoys connecting with patients and really getting to know them. Her warm and welcoming demeanor makes patients feel at ease while sharing their concerns. Terri is honored to have joined the Greater New Haven OB/GYN Group where she delivers evidence-based compassionate patient care.

When not at work Terri enjoys spending time with her teenaged daughter and son and Labrador retriever, Austin. She enjoys fitness-related activities, particularly her Peloton.
