Sarah Schaitkin, CNM

Sarah joined Greater New Haven as a midwife in the fall of 2021, though she had worked at Greater New Haven for years prior to that as a triage nurse.

Sarah received her Bachelor’s degree in English and Psychology at Washington & Jefferson College, and then went on to receive a Master’s degree in English at Wake Forest University. It was there that Sarah realized her passion for midwifery and later went on to receive a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Columbia University. She worked for a few years as a med/surg nurse at Greenwich Hospital before returning to school and completing her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Midwifery from Fairfield University. 

Sarah is extremely happy to say that she has no plans for any further higher education as she has found her calling in midwifery. She is also grateful to be practicing as a midwife at Greater New Haven, and is proud to be part of this amazing team. When she’s not working, Sarah spends her free time with her daughter, husband, and dog.
