Vincent Lynch, MD

Dr. Lynch grew up in Connecticut. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania and received his M.D. degree from New York Medical College. He did a medical internship at Chicago Wesley Memorial Hospital a division of Northwestern University School of Medicine. He then did a residency in Obstetrics & Gynecology at Yale New Haven Hospital. After residency Dr. Lynch spent two years in the U. S. Navy stationed at Balboa Naval Center, San Diego, California. He was Director of the Obstetrical Service and started their first High Risk Obstetrics Service. He then returned to New Haven and entered practice with the Greater New Haven Ob/Gyn Group.

Currently Dr. Lynch is a Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. He has received several teaching awards because of his involvement with residents, medical students and nurses. U. S. News and World Report named Dr. Lynch among the top 10% of gynecologists in the country in their Best Doctor’s Edition. His practice is currently limited to gynecology and menopause.

Randall Kaump, MD

Dr. Kaump was born and raised in California where he earned an undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. After earning his MD degree from Georgetown University in 1981, he did his residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale. He then came to New Haven where he has remained on the clinical faculty at the Yale University School of Medicine ever since, currently as an Associate Clinical Professor. He has been with the Greater New Haven Ob/Gyn Group since 1988, earning partnership in 1991.

During his tenure here he has developed a reputation among his peers as a skilled clinician, meticulous surgeon, and compassionate listener. He has a large and dedicated patient following. His interests include general Obstetrics and Gynecology, Urogynecology, and Pelvic Floor Reconstruction.

Outside of medicine he promotes physical fitness by example and enjoys playing guitar, fly fishing, and collecting cars.

Denise Tonzola, MD

Born and raised in New Jersey, Dr. Tonzola graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University in 1988 with a degree in Biology.

She earned her MD degree from New York University, and was inducted into the AOA medical honor society in 1992. She pursued her residency training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale and was appointed Chief Resident in 1996. Dr. Tonzola joined Greater New Haven OB/Gyn after completing her residency and was named partner in 2001.

Dr. Tonzola enjoys educating her patients about their health. She especially values the long lasting relationships she has established with her patients, many of which extend across multiple generations of family members.

Outside of her busy patient practice, Dr. Tonzola enjoys boating and biking as well as spending time with her family that includes two very active teenage sons.

Richard Moscarelli, MD
Richard Moscarelli MD Specialties:

Dr. Moscarelli graduated from Columbia College in 1990, cum laude. He then graduated with honors from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 1994 where he received the award for excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale in 1998 where he received the Resident Research Award, as well as the Meehan Miller Award for Scholarship in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Moscarelli then went on to join the Greater New Haven Ob Gyn Group where he has practiced since 1998. He has twice been named a Top Doctor in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine and he is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale School of Medicine.

Dr. Moscarelli's gynecologic interests are the conservative treatment of abnormal bleeding and fibroids, menopause and perimenopause, the management of abnormal pap smears, and infertility. He is also interested in the full range of obstetrical care from healthy normal pregnancies to pregnancies complicated by preterm labor, hypertension, preeclampsia, diabetes, or other medical issues.

David Lima, MD

Dr. David Lima was born and raised in Connecticut. He attended Boston College where he earned his undergraduate degree in Biology and Economics. He then attended Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where he received his M.D. degree in 1993. Dr. Lima went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Yale in 1997 where he received the Peter A. Grannum Memorial Award presented to the “chief resident with a humanistic approach to medicine and dedicated to teaching medical students.” Dr. Lima has continued to receive multiple teaching awards throughout the years.

Dr. Lima has been in private practice in New Haven for eighteen years. He became a partner at Greater New Haven Ob/Gyn in 2008. Dr. Lima is an Attending Physician at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He is devoted to each and every patient and equally enjoys obstetrics and advanced gynecology. He specializes in daVinci Robotic Surgery.

Dr. Asia Edusa

Dr. Edusa graduated cum laude with a BA in Biological Anthropology from Harvard University. She went on to attend the Mount Sinai School of Medicine where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. She completed her OB/GYN residency at Yale New Haven Hospital where she was elected as one of the Administrative Chief Residents and received the Peter A. Grannum award for her "humanistic approach to medicine and dedication to teaching medical students."

Dr. Edusa is an Attending Physician at Yale-New Haven Hospital and a Clinical Instructor at the Yale University School of Medicine. She is also a Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Edusa joined Greater New Haven OB/GYN Group in 2005. She practices general obstetrics and gynecology and has particular interests in adolescent gynecology, cervical disease and colposcopy, international medicine and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr. Edusa enjoys gardening, African art and dance. She is a native of New York City and resides in Connecticut with her husband, Dr. Valentine Edusa, and their delightful children.

Dr. Dawn R. W. Kopel

Dr. Kopel is a graduate of Brown University and Northwestern Medical School, now the Feinberg School of Medicine, in Chicago. She completed her training at the Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. As an outpatient gynecologist, Dr. Kopel sees obstetric and gynecologic patients in 3 of the 4 offices served by Greater New Haven OB/GYN. She sees people of all ages and continues to offer comprehensive outpatient care for her patients, including minor procedures at the Women’s Surgical Center. She also takes a special interest in helping women with vulvovaginal disorders and continues to develop her knowledge in this area.

She indulges her love of languages both at work and beyond, offering care in Spanish and sometimes Mandarin, Portuguese and limited French. Her personal interests revolve around family and friends. She loves the great outdoors, travel, and theater.

Dr. Shih joined the Greater New Haven Ob/Gyn family in 2014 after practicing Obstetrics and Gynecology in New York for 11 years. She is a graduate of Brown University, where she earned both her undergraduate and medical degrees. She then went on to complete her residency training in OB/GYN at NYU Medical Center. In 2005 she was board certified in OB/GYN by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Dr. Shih feels it is a special privilege to care for women through life's major stages and offers a full range of services for women from teenagers to seniors. She has special interests in adolescent gynecology, contraception, colposcopy, general obstetrics, breastfeeding, and minimally invasive surgery.
